Pros
Many of the staff are good at what they do, are hard working and fair. Some people don't carry their own weight. Some are allowed to work according to whatever schedule they want if they are friendly with the management clique.
Cons
Belonging to cliques there will benefit you; will protect you when layoffs happen. Recent merger resulted in large downsizing of employee counts since expenses were mismanaged. Rather than devise a fair method of dealing with potential losses, wholesale lopping of important and already unserved functions was carried out.
