Pros

Good Benefits, no copay if you stay in the system. Most of the staff is very nice.

Cons

Micromanaged, treated as a number instead of a human, not a lot of room for advancement and the pay was low (but on par with another local low-paying hospital). No openings allowed in the schedule and not allowed to stay clocked in if needed to stay late for documentation. EMR is antiquated with multiple systems present and used at any given moment (different for inpatient/ outpatient, Cancer Center on different EMR than rest of the hospital, billing/ registration on another system). Management definitely had favorites.

Pros

Great staff and overall culture. Leadership is approachable, pay is fair, and there is a good sense of teamwork. Once trained, there is a decent amount of autonomy in your role.

Cons

No real remote or hybrid flexibility, even for positions where it could work. New ideas and changes can take a long time to move forward. Staffing ratios do not always reflect true patient acuity, which can make assignments feel uneven at times. Nursing leadership is highly engaged and supportive of staff nurses. However, some executive leadership and HR departments appear out of touch with the evolving needs of modern healthcare and workforce expectations (remote and hybrid, limited part time opitions), leading to slower adaptation and organizational change.
