Pros
Vactions PTO, PRN flexibility, caring for people. This company was great when I started over 12 years ago. Nurses were in high demand and they paid well treated employees with respect and offered great patient care. Around 5 years ago the hospital changed the way they staff their floors. The nurses had to take on more patients with less help. Then a few years after that they cut all of our help at the nurses station (HUC). Now an RN has to answer the phones while caring for patients. Even the YMCA has a receptionist and they are not saving lives. It is very hard for the nurses to ever eat or get take a break. The economy and new health law seems to have frightened them into tightening their belts. Now with nursing jobs in low demand in this area, they will only hire BSN prepared nurses and want everyone to go back to school, although they will not pay for it.
Cons
Poor raises, no loyalty, cutting staff, no support
