Pros

Decent starting salary, stable demand (pros of any teacher job)

Cons

Micromanagement, frequent observations (2 per week on average), contradictory grading on observations, being treated like a child, administrators have less time to help with discipline because they now have to grade and discipline teachers, absurd expectations on level of work, busy work that's constantly changing based off of the whims of senior management that doesn't help or contribute meaningfully to lesson planning, too many problems to list

Pros

At an EAS school, there is more autonomy. It is not so microamnaged. Free Pre-k for your kids. Available bonus pay through PFP model.

Cons

Not much coaching happening at EAS schools (for a first year teacher that may be difficult). Not all elementary schools have Pre-k so your kid may not attend the school you work at. I am finding out my new salary on THE DAY I RETURN TO WORK. Crazy.
