Pros
I had the pleasure of working at Houston Methodist for six years and will always think of it as one of the best places to work in Houston. The pride the Administration, hospital staff, and physicians took in evaluating the latest and and most up to date outcomes data, equipment upgrades and care methodologies for the patients, served to highlight the fact that patient safety was always priority one for the organization, as it should be!
Cons
New department leaders need more training and follow-up during their first year with input obtained from reporting staff, in order to better understand the hospital's mission and the Houston Methodist way of doing things, before implementing work strategies and processes from their originating institutions, which do not coincide with the organization's vision.
