Great benefits, students and teachers are all excellent, a community of belonging

Used to have excellent administration, but a bunch of old leaders retired and were replaced by new leaders in 2024. Admin has not been good since.

As with any job, it's not perfect. The community has made great improvements now that we have a new HOS. There is a strong effort and desire to improve pay for staff and to create a sense of belonging. Our school is small but it creates a space for strong connections amongst staff. Everyone is genuinely nice, not that everyone is best friends, but you can find support when you need it. I love that there is room for professional development for all positions through conferences like SAIS and NAIS. Most importantly, the care for the students' educational and emotional development is unmatched compared to the other schools I've worked in, I've had the chance to listen in on student/parent conferences and have heard firsthand how much support is given. The goal is without a doubt to help them transition into traditional schools with tools and strategies to help them not only work independently but succeed with their learning disabilities.
