Pros
Learned about the hands-on side of engineering and how to purely troubleshoot problems in a reliability and preventative maintenance perspective. Very good learning opportunity for interns in mechanical or electrical engineering fields.
Cons
Most design is outsourced (if facility engineer) or comes from client (if product engineer). As a Faciltiies Engineer, you are more of a glorified technician/project coordinator/technician manager depending on how you handle projects. Although a great learning opportunity for an intern, I would not want to work here as an engineer full-time since you are expected to get your hands dirty sometimes.
