-they are pretty good about working the schedule to let you have time off if you have need
-if they feel you are right for the job they don't require experince

You have to pay for half of your licensing and training and you don't get reimbursed till you have gotten the full license. So that's about $140 up front. Then you also have to pay for the half the cost of your uniform over a span of time, but grand total for the year you could easily be talking $100 or more for the year. On select posts maybe around $300.
