Every day at Humanoid Origin was a great day to work. As of the date of this review, the best company I've ever worked for in my 36-year career. I'd never before worked with a team or company simultaneously dedicated to end product and the work environment. 7 weeks of paid time off, almost all of us working remotely, best health insurance I've ever had. The camaraderie and enthusiasm for our excellent game made for an enthralling workplace. Even with no grinding pressure to work overlong hours, game development was ahead of schedule. Innovative management choices regarding how to handle interviews and employee reviews took what is usually drudgery at most companies and turned it into a positive experience. If I needed anything from management, it was handled quickly and painlessly. I could go on and on. It really was THAT good. Best workplace ever.
Cons
The video game industry funding pattern is unpredictable, which led to a shutdown while new funding is secured. Unfortunately this meant termination for all employees, but the entire gaming industry has laid off many thousands of workers in the past 2 years, so it's more of an industry thing than a company thing.
