Pros

The facility was very nice, very clean, and the DON and Kitchen Director were superb. Staff t members worked well together.

Cons

Short staffed, and corporate management tied the hands of facility management to do the things that were in the best interest of the patients in order to meet numbers. It was always about meeting numbers with them, and never about our patients.

Pros

They have a secure and well lit parking lot, and the nursing staff is very appreciative of the work the support staff does for them. Also if you work Sundays, you can go to mass while you are at work if there is time.

Cons

One of the worst jobs I every had. Only hire in as a temp and keep it a temp job. Temps don't work shifts, or holidays (all day turn, no weekends). The scheduling is unreal. They will hire you in at 20 hours, but work you 40 past training period, 60 if they can get you to sign for overtime. Management will say it won't happen, but it happens all the time. You can work 5 am to 1:30 pm two days, get one off, go to afternoons another two days, get another day off and then go to midnights the rest of the week, (all in one week). Typical to come off midnights and get one day off the back out at 5 am (you sleep half of your day off away). Very understaffed, never enough people to cover the schedule, thus long list of overtime always posted, sign up or work short. It's a way of life there, thus everyone are always stressed and burnt out. They say it's been like that for years so don't buy the "it will get better" line. Starting pay is low ($9.40 an hour) and raises are non existent ( .25 cents a year if lucky). Employees in the department are not very friendly and two-face. Other departments employees seem to be nicer. Team leaders pass the buck a lot and are inconsistent and unprofessional. Training is on the fly if any at all.
