Pros
A lot of good people there. Lots of engineers and designers, which is a good thing. Excellent reporting structure that makes a lot of sense. You don't need the approval of 5 departments in order to do something. Just go to your boss and it gets handled. Sales/marketing does not wag the dog here. Week between Christmas and New Years off with pay.
Cons
Hard to get promotions. Some people are just anointed as favored sons and given the world, while everyone else is just a guy. The former CEO (currently still somewhat active in things but not the business end) liked to push his religious/political beliefs on everyone in the company and was rather disparaging toward non Christians and even women. His son is in charge now, and he's MUCH better than the old man. Very personable and reasonable. They don't do a great job of putting people in jobs they want to be in. Nobody ever asks what you'd like to do. It gets to the point where you just get your same old $1k bonus and 3% raise each year regardless of performance.
