Pros
If you're a people person and have a good attitude, you will find this job very rewarding. I wouldn't trade some customer experiences for the world. When in public or meeting new people in town, they usually say, "Do you work at Hy-Vee?" This is good honest work and I've been fortunate to have such a great team to help teach and learn from.
Cons
Its a fast paced job, so you get physically drained and usually mentally exhausted. Most of the shift is spent on your feet. I can, at times, find myself doing 3-4 things at once. This role is the most challenging job of Hy-Vee - you are the direct connection between management and the customer. But, stay focused, ask the right questions, delegate, follow up, and don't take too many things personally - That's what I've done and I feel successful in my role.
