Remote work offers flexibility but lacks job security - Accountant Hyland Employee Review

Pros

Fully remote, no dress code, always busy

Cons

Not a safe place to work, when I started 1/4 people were laid off by email, then a new ceo came in and cleaned house and brought in his own people, then more people were fired over anonymous survey responses, one wrong move or questioning something and you can be fired. They will file it as your position was no longer needed, no comment on the revolving door. Every all hands meeting they say they have great employee retention, but it’s fake they just say they didn’t need that position anymore. Very stressful. No one cares if your team was cut down. You have to keep taking on more without more pay.

Pros

Remote or hybrid capability. Usually a flexible schedule.

Cons

Constant quiet firing. They've figured out how to avoid public disclosures quite well. Every month they're whacking batches of 20~30 employees - esp. if you were in a higher pay band or part of an acquired company. There's constant leadership churn as of late - not that leadership was ever that great, but the clownshow has more makeup on the pigs now. If you were part of an acquired company, the stench of nepotism was constant. Hyland doesn't provide legitimate training or certification assistance for everyone. Their products would fail any sort of security scan by an AI tool too. If you're a customer, buyer beware.
