Pros

Hyland offers its employees the experience of what one would expect from a Silicon Valley software company, but in northeast Ohio. There are a number of onsite amenities such as child care, a fitness center, salon, and a diner. The parties and events are fun, and the company aims for a "work hard, play hard" environment with emphasis on work/life balance.

Cons

The perks are nice, but come at the price of a low salary (much lower than industry standards). There seems to be a disconnect between upper and lower/mid level management, and at times there's confusion as to who is actually in charge. As you'll read in other reviews, the company seems to prefer to hire new talent instead of investing in experienced employees. The turnover rate seemed to be increasing exponentially at the time I left. If you're looking for a long-term career, be prepared to drink the kool-aid. Otherwise, put in your time, take advantage of the name recognition on your resume, and look elsewhere for an employer who pays a reasonable salary for your experience level.

Pros

Work/life balance Great people to work with on daily basis Ability to work remote (US based) Plenty of development opportunities I've been given the tools I need to do my job and be innovative I have an amazing manager and team that I lead

Cons

I am restricted on where I can hire new employees right now. There are a lot of competing priorities with similar deadlines which can be stressful, but the days go by fast.

Pros

Remote or hybrid capability. Usually a flexible schedule.

Cons

Constant quiet firing. They've figured out how to avoid public disclosures quite well. Every month they're whacking batches of 20~30 employees - esp. if you were in a higher pay band or part of an acquired company. There's constant leadership churn as of late - not that leadership was ever that great, but the clownshow has more makeup on the pigs now. If you were part of an acquired company, the stench of nepotism was constant. Hyland doesn't provide legitimate training or certification assistance for everyone. Their products would fail any sort of security scan by an AI tool too. If you're a customer, buyer beware.
