Pros

Career path is VERY open at Hyland. Want to work on this type of functionality? You can move to this team. Need help figuring out some technology? Ask your team next door to help! The culture is AMAZING and the very very laid back nature of this company is a great perk. This is my first software engineering job and I am VERY happy to be working here. You always can find something cool to work on and they really encourage career growth. Their number one priority is to ensure your career goes exactly how you want it to be. Plus, with all of this new technology and re-org we're going through makes it really exciting to know you're working with the latest and greatest technology. I can't recommend Hyland enough. I'm trying to get my cousin and friends who develop to join. Be patient with the process, takes a little while.

Cons

The hiring process is very strange. Low information on why a candidate gets passed up. Long waits for next steps. The pay isn't the average for this industry but it's a 'start'. This doesn't mean you can't eventually start making more money, though. You can easily find yourself well above the norm if you stay and work long enough.

Thanks for taking the time to provide thoughtful feedback. We’re glad you are enjoying Hyland and encouraging others in your network to join the team. With the number of applications we receive, the recruiting process can take some time, but we truly make an effort to hire based on employee referrals, so keep the referrals coming!

Pros

Work/life balance Great people to work with on daily basis Ability to work remote (US based) Plenty of development opportunities I've been given the tools I need to do my job and be innovative I have an amazing manager and team that I lead

Cons

I am restricted on where I can hire new employees right now. There are a lot of competing priorities with similar deadlines which can be stressful, but the days go by fast.

Pros

Remote or hybrid capability. Usually a flexible schedule.

Cons

Constant quiet firing. They've figured out how to avoid public disclosures quite well. Every month they're whacking batches of 20~30 employees - esp. if you were in a higher pay band or part of an acquired company. There's constant leadership churn as of late - not that leadership was ever that great, but the clownshow has more makeup on the pigs now. If you were part of an acquired company, the stench of nepotism was constant. Hyland doesn't provide legitimate training or certification assistance for everyone. Their products would fail any sort of security scan by an AI tool too. If you're a customer, buyer beware.
