Pros

If you want to be stressed and battle coworkers everyday, this is the perfect place.

Cons

Icon rots from the top down. Management has been around for too long - people are overpaid and there is a real need for new leadership here. Senior management in the media and business development departments loath one another and that hatred permeates every single department at Icon. I wish it was just petty gossip but the company is comprised of people that are rooting for your failure. It’s amazing that internal meetings are filled with caustic people that get pleasure from making team members uncomfortable. I’m not even sure what HR even does except enter and politic for the Best Company in CT award each year. No amount of PR will fix what’s wrong with this aging business. It’s not a surprise that Icon was recently spun out from its past owner.

Pros

fun media events, occasional lunches, work/life balance is decent

Cons

Salary is insulting and growth is stagnant, managers and leadership who throw tantrums (i.e. screaming, storming off, dismissing employees, sending attacking messages) without consequence, instances of very inappropriate relationships and conversation in the workplace, and the place is a rumor mill. Derogatory comments and sexual conversations/relationships shouldn’t be happening at all, let alone stemming from leadership. Unsure if HR is really just that oblivious or if a blind eye is turned, but with the amount I’ve witnessed in just a short period of time, I can’t imagine what else goes on here.
