Great culture and engaging work - Summer Intern IMS Infrastructure Management Services Employee Review

The work done here is incredibly interesting - vans loaded up with lasers, computers, tech, and lights drive all over the US, and sometimes beyond, scanning the roads with laser beams. The information captured is eventually turned into useful data for clients of various size and scale, such as towns, counties, municipalities, and cities. We also work LiDAR as well as tech-outfitted ATV's. This requires the talents of many people of various disciplines, in and out of "The Field". It all works because there is a good culture at IMS. Many coworkers get on like family and not a few will go out of their way for each other. There are more than a few get-togethers throughout the year (pre-covid) and we still manage to have fun virtually. First place I ever drank a beer at work!

Not a con as much as a realistic warning - prepare for hard work. IMS does pretty amazing work which requires a lot of dedication and out-of-the-box thinking.

The current work environment at IMS is superb. Coworkers are willing to help each other to ensure the company's goals are being achieved in a timely manner. You never have to be afraid to ask questions to your manager or to upper management. In fact, a strong learning environment is encouraged to generate internal growth, company productivity, and a thorough quality assurance regime to ultimately benefit the client's work.

Thoroughness in quality control can extend for a lengthy period of time for a multitude of reasons. Although this still benefits the client's work overall (and the client's trust in the company for producing exceptional work), employees should be expected to put themselves up for the challenge, especially in time-sensitive cases. Utilizing time management and productivity skills to deliver high quality work is essential. In the end, however, this challenging work is a gratifying experience.
