Pros

Employees are actively encouraged to leave work at 5 pm. It is rare that you will spend more than 40 hours/week at this job. The work you do it a good resume boost.

Cons

While I do not typically leave reviews, I recently saw that INTEK is hiring and felt morally obligated to deter people from working at this company. If you value your mental, emotional, and physical well-being, I highly recommend avoiding this organization. To say that management is unprofessional is an understatement – in the time I worked at INTEK, I witnessed management berate, belittle, and take out personal frustrations on their employees on a weekly basis. This is exemplified by the high turnover rate, as entry-level employees usually last less than a year INTEK. I can confidently state that I dreaded going to work every morning and was ecstatic to leave at the end of each day. If you are considering working here for the paycheck, or to have an income while you look for another job, it is not worth it. Although employees are not expected to work more than 40 hours a week, it is nearly impossible to avoid bringing the negative and oppressive work environment home with you. This makes it difficult to actively seek other opportunities, let alone maintain a work-life balance. The salary is also considerably lower than is normal or expected for the area. I promise, you can find something better. Bottom line: I was miserable when I worked here and would echo what other reviewers have said. Management is incompetent, disorganized, and outright disrespectful to their employees. Please do not make the mistake of working here – no human being deserves that.

Pros

It's a starting job for your resume

Cons

I worked at INTEK during a period when the company appeared to rely heavily on recent graduates while providing limited structure, training, or onboarding. Expectations were often unclear, and employees could receive criticism for issues that had never been communicated beforehand. Rather than developing employees through mentorship and clear feedback, management frequently relied on vague comments that made it difficult to understand how success was being measured. One of the biggest challenges was the workplace culture. Communication could feel condescending, and constructive feedback was often overshadowed by arbitrary criticism. Employees were expected to figure things out independently despite receiving little guidance, which created unnecessary stress and contributed to turnover. The work itself had the potential to be interesting, and many of the younger employees were intelligent and hardworking. Unfortunately, the management style often undermined employee confidence rather than helping people grow professionally.
