In finance: - the expectation is that you will work incredibly long hours EVERY day, not only during quarter end, but every day! Then there is zero gratitude for the overtime, it is expected. - I saw the senior compliance officer unable to control his hands shaking because he worked mad hours! - People in the billing team have been told they HAVE TO WORK ON 1 JANUARY! When they had the temerity to raise their eyebrows they were told not to, it was part of the joys of working for a US owned company! Of course its not, as anybody who has worked for a US owned company well knows. - Complete lack of honesty in the interview process, there is no mention of the high staff churn or the mad hours which will be expected. - People who have been there many years, some for 25+ years are leaving. - Very high staff turnover in finance and the ones who are there bitterly regret taking the job and are looking for something else. - The whole finance function is a complete and awful mess, process which are straightforward in any other company, in this company are a complicated mess!
