Pros
My favorite thing about IRIS is the fact that everybody is heard in their opinions. If somebody wants to see something change in the business, the option is usually there to make the change if a good argument is made. Management all the way up to the top is willing to listen to the employees for the benefit or the happiness of the workers and the betterment of the business. The culture is very fun and most people are able to enjoy working with each other and have fun at the office without compromising a drive for excellence in the product. People who excel are rewarded, and people who struggle are given a chance to improve and prosper through guidance or role changes.
Cons
"IRIS is a young company that is still figuring out the structure of the business in some ways. There have been a lot of recent changes in the positions that exist at the business, all in the pursuit of finding organization that works best, but sometimes the rapid changing of job descriptions has led to confusion within the company. This has led to items falling through the cracks when it has been unclear whose job it is to complete a task. I think there is always room for improvement on project planning and making sure we aren't running the clock down to the last few seconds before we finish building and programming our machines. That's the nature of custom systems though, you never know exactly how long something is going to take. I think this will come with time as we experience more custom projects and learn little things about where the hang-ups are likely to occur."
