Pros

If you were straight out of high school needing customer service experience and to put literally ANYTHING on your resume, this could be somewhat of a learning experience. If you have any sort of job experience beyond that, don't waste your time.

Cons

This was advertised as a "paid" internship and that I would be compensated for my transportation with $12.50 a day. Obviously this is already a gray area (free labor), but I was assured Id be getting a lot of hands on experience with the PR/Marketing Manager and the Creative Director. None of which occurred. After being ordered to carry heavy boxes of clothes, answer the phone, and dust for free I realized I was most definitely being exploited. Furthermore, I was never compensated my measly travel costs and I obviously didn't learn anything other than the NYC abusive internship reputation is true.

Pros

Beautiful product. Seasonal wardrobe allowance. Awesome tailors. Great San Francisco location.

Cons

Low salary for Bay Area cost of living. If you don’t have a strong ISAIA book, look elsewhere. “ Walk-in” business is extremely limited (unless they’re tourists). Sometimes a very negative and hostile work environment. One associate impractical, was constantly confrontational with staff. But because of numbers, their behavior was given a pass. I could not tolerate it and thus my departure. Unscheduled, unpaid overtime was a regular occurrence. Due to a store understanding that when a client was in, the entire staff was to stay until they completed their transaction. This would sometimes mean we’d not be released until well after store hours. Not cool. You’ll be more of a tour guide, then a salesman. The location is in the historic Frank Lloyd Wright building. As awesome as it sounds, it’s not. Thousands of locals and foreign tourist love to see the building. You’ll be asked repeatedly about the history, FLW lore and other miscellaneous facts.
