Pros

IST can be a great fit for those looking for temporary work or extra pocket change between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. On-call work is at the discretion of the site manager, so there's no guarantee you'll make anything consistent. The only consistent on-call work is travel related (which is designated to Regional Stars). It's also a great option for those looking for general office or logistics experience. If you're charismatic and have the gift of gab, you just may be the exception (Read that twice, then read that again). A plus is that you'll become PACE certified. So that's nice. The hours are flexible. IST adopts a flex plan, so they'll work with you if you have appointments, school, and children. They are also a big advocate for cross-training. So prepare to learn everything. Each year, IST sponsors a young child and raises money for Cystic Fibrosis. It is something the company is very passionate about and one of the things that stays consistent. Upper management will always greet you with a smile, and each one champions an open door policy. Now whether anything comes of that is a different story, but they'll listen. Some of the sites are a pleasure to work with, but it really is contingent on the site and the people there.

Cons

There's no way you can commit to a long stretch with IST (unless, as stated above, you can network your way into a particular position). This is definitely one of those businesses where you gotta know somebody that knows somebody that has pull to even get considered. Sitting down with upper management and detailing a career path is pointless because they are very meticulous about who they put where and who represents the company. Sadly, their process for promotions is very visual-based. If you don't have the look, you won't go far regardless of your degree and experience with the company. They don't help with relocation but will stress that the only way to make more money is to move up (which requires relocation most of the time) so take that with a grain of salt. Bonuses are non-existent and raises are a slap in the face. The only way I made it as long as I did was because I also worked outside of IST. Also, READ YOUR CONTRACT. Depending on your long-term plans and where you are located, that contract might bite you in the bum later on. They change 401k providers quite frequently, and your plan gets taxed every time it does. The company has only recently begun matching, so the tax was being taken out of YOUR contribution. So investing was pointless and a waste of money. The CEO is currently focusing the company's growth on law firm management so if you work at a warehouse logistics, prepare to be completely ignored and neglected.

Pros

Working at this company has been a genuinely positive experience. One of the biggest strengths is the excellent customer service we consistently deliver. The team goes above and beyond to ensure clients feel supported, heard, and valued, which has become a defining part of our culture. Our management team is another standout. They provide clear direction, communicate effectively, and foster an environment where employees feel empowered to grow. Their leadership style encourages collaboration, innovation, and accountability. What truly sets this company apart is the synergy between employees on all levels. Teamwork isn’t just encouraged — it’s natural. Colleagues support one another, share knowledge freely, and work together seamlessly to achieve common goals. This creates a workplace that feels both productive and genuinely enjoyable. Overall, it’s a company that values people, delivers quality, and cultivates a strong sense of unity.

Cons

While my overall experience at the company has been positive, there is one notable challenge that could possibly affect long‑term stability: the dependence on client contracts. If a major contract ends or a client’s needs shift, there is a certain degree of uncertainty. This reliance isn’t uncommon in our industry, but it does highlight the importance of building strong client relationships to provide more consistent long‑term stability.
