Pros

Great group of people at the company. Special L'Oréal perks; generous time off, paid holiday, vacation time, pension, 401K, the works.

Cons

Fake inclusiveness from the brand. As stated in another review from customer service rep, there are mircroaggressions towards people of color and the LGBT community. I was (1) of (2) person's of color in customer service. The team of immediate members were great and I made life long friends with them, but the operations manager was a scare! The time consisted of (2) team leads, and (2) members of management but there was no clear difference between the two. The one that was there the longest seemed miserable and turned the mood down on our team. No one felt comfortable to express concerns because once expressed to this individual, she would dismiss your valid point and shut you down. The newest manager was a joy to work with. Fought for team to be included and to cross train in different departments whereas the older manager could careless about your advancement as she seemed to be stuck in her role of misery. However, I enjoyed my team and the people I met throughout the company. I felt as if I had a role with others making REAL change and giving the brand a needed facelift. I lost this role due to "job abandonment" and not a single person from HR or management reached out to let me know that I was terminated. I never any communication and was ignored by HR about the status of my employment until I reached out directly to L'Oréal for assistance. HR called to get "my side" of things but I still never received the respect of being formally made abreast about my status of employment. I was told that they would get with corporate in regards to final steps. I immediately took this as being terminated. I thought that I had built a friendly professional relationship with the brand, but I was fooled. The entire exit left me embarrassed. I did a social media campaign to add color and a breath of freshness to the brand, and before my termination was complete my picture was removed from the social media. I was in a situation and HR never reached out to check on me or even was negligent to the fact that I had no emergency contact! This brand takes things from a personal perspective instead of a business insight. Afterall, I was informed by a coworker/friend that I was terminated. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL IS THAT! The customer service team does NOT get the credit and the respect that IT deserves! I was the only guy, but I worked with POWERHOUSE women who really contributed in all facets for the brand and did IT well! I will miss them all! We had (1) team lead who was a problem child and made the mood of the team low as well. She was very aggressive with her disdain for her unfavored coworkers and went through great lengths to get people into trouble. GREAT LENGTHS! She even stole from the company and managed to keep her job there. The team expressed to management prior to me joining the team about their issues and concerns with this individual but management always overlooked the issue, always responding with "We will look into this" or "If you want to discuss further, please let us know" NO, THAT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! FIRE HER! Hopefully someone gets ahold of her outside of work and lets her know what the deal is because she is T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E The main problem with IT outside of their lack of diversity with shades in makeup, is that they wanted to be L'Oréal when IT was convenient for them. That's not cool! I could go on and on, but I will say if you're black or colored, watch your back! It's only a few there and I'm sure the evil eye is on every last one of them. No salt, no shade. I'm definitely going to tell my story to all!
