Pros

The other employees are hardworking and dedicated (to what seems to be dead company ideals and culture). This will soon no longer be a 'Pro' as there has been a mass exodus of employees, the majority of which have been around for years, not new hires that 'didn't work out'. This was an excellent place to work years ago and the long term employees that remain seem to be clinging to the hope that things go back. They get one star because I can't put less.

Cons

They will describe it as a challenging and fast paced environment. My experience has been that they really mean; you will be expected to work overtime and weekends all the time as they are perpetually understaffed and everyone is overworked. This has been everyone's opinion long before the pandemic or their acquisition by CompassMSP. It seems as though the response from upper management has been to ignore the situation or respond with "be more efficient". Provide max value everyone!! I can imagine the 'super lean' numbers looked nice on paper for that sellout... I mean merger. Management seems to ignore inquiries about pay raises and advancement, or pretend the conversations and promises never happened. It also appears that they value a new employee more than a long term one as the new guy will get more, sometimes significantly. This seems to be the case even when the long term employee has gone above and beyond for years, and may have been told things like, there is no room in the budget, even for a cost of living raise. The CEO could sell ice to an Eskimo and his marketing teams creates a convincing smokescreen on social media. Don't fall for their nonsense. They seem to be hiring anyone they can because of the mass exodus, imagine something like over a dozen employees in less than half as many months. It's a comically large number for the total amount of employees. Let's not forget their acquisition of ITG Cloud, it appears as though only a few of those employees are left as well, but that includes the former owner and his daughter, so maybe that doesn't really count. They likely saw exactly what it was like, without the blinders from the good old days of IT Direct, and jumped ship. The dumpster fire that was inherited from ITG Cloud seems to have just been ignored and piled onto the ever dwindling and overworked existing employees, or just ignored until the clients left. If you do choose to come work here make sure you park in the employee of the month parking spot, as their has not been one in around 18 months? So it won't matter if you do, and you will get to park next to the CEO/Former Owners brand new Porsche, assuming hes actually there and not off thinking up his next spin tactic to keep employees and clients just a little bit longer.

Pros

I have been here a couple years now and I can tell you, this place really cares. When the other reviews say fast paced, it really is. If you are looking for a job where you will have an easy path and not learn, this is not for you. It not only is fast but has a feel like you hear about with start up companies. The ride is up and down but the end result is a great team, passionate leaders, and a strong future. To add to some of the comments recently left. Yes, the company did not give raises during the first year of Covid. That was a decision everyone made. We agreed to no raises to avoid layoffs not knowing what the future had. I supported that and still do. I know many friends who lost their jobs during Covid and we held up strong and so did my job. While the company did not have the best year ever last year, it still went out of its way to give bonuses, hazard pay, etc to help the team. I am very appreciative of this. We were hit by the "Great Resignation" of 2021 so currently we are short staffed. But the company has put a lot of resources into recruiting and we have brought on a lot of great new teammates and not only are they hiring to replace who left, they are also hiring a lot of additional staff as well. Great signs and great support from leadership. This past year has been tough on all businesses but I believe IT Direct stands behind what it believes in. The best part, anytime I have an idea or want to talk, anyone at the leadership level listens. Including the CEO. Yes, he has a podcast which teammates have mentioned here. What isn't mentioned is the exposure this podcast has given the company and state. It has been a great addition to what we do and how we make a difference. Sounds like there might be some undeserved resentment or misunderstood value. All in all, I am looking forward to a great and bright future here. I highly recommend anyone who is willing to work hard, loves to learn, and wants to be surrounded by a great team to join!

Cons

It is fast. Some days are hectic. As cyber security and technology needs continue to grow, so will the work.

Pros

If you are a good person, hard-working and enjoy a fast paced work environment-you’ll be a great fit here. I have been with this company for 3 years, through 3 acquisitions, and I can genuinely say I wake up every single day excited to go to work. I have a boss who empowers me, trusts me, believes in me and goes out of his way every single day to ensure I’m growing both personally and professionally. I’ve grown and learned more in the past 3 years here than I have in the rest of my professional working years combined. Nothing about working for an MSP is easy, especially one growing at the rate we are but damn is it exciting! It’s busy and stressful at times but when you take a step back and see how many peoples life’s you are making better because of the work you’re doing-that feeling of pride and accomplishment is unmatched. I love the people I work with, I love our clients and I am beyond proud to say I am an IT Direct: A CompassMSP Company employee.

Cons

The MSP world is definitely not for everyone and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that-that’s the great part of living in a free country, you get to choose where you work :) If you’re looking for a slow paced and predictable environment, you’re probably better off continuing your search elsewhere for a company that better fits your wants.
