Pros

I learned many new things during my three years with IT Synergy. I was with the company during the difficult time of the 2011 revolutions and the company didn't close or lay off any employee inspite of the diffucoult sitautions. I worked with many projects with international organizations like United Nations and multinationals like Intel and Dell. When I got an offer to travel abroad the management helped me in the transition.

Cons

Long commuting time from my house to the Smart Village. Sometime management gives too much responsability to junior staff. During my employment the CTO left to take a master degree in US and he was not replaced.

Thanks. We have recently hired a number of senior experienced staff as middle management and we hope this will mitigate the issue. We still have many open positions in our new company structure, especially vis a vis the recent growth and international expansion, and we hope to further mitigate the lack of senior team leaders.

Dear former employee. I actually prefer calling you “”xx” or “yy” since I cannot believe you could have really been an IT Synergy employee: the only mandatory requisite to be hired in our company is not the experience or academic background, it’s being smart. And I cannot imagine how a smart person could have spent three years of his/her life in such a terrible environment as you described. If our working environment would have been as you have described and you would have been indeed an employee of ours, you would have had at least 1.092 days, 8.736 hours to knock my door or just step into my office and make a complain. Or you would have had chance to raise those issues during the weekly staff meetings. But you didn’t. Therefore either you have never been one of our employees or you are one of those very few that have disgracefully left our company or been fired because of a serious misconduct and you are now acting in revenge. Employees are our most valuable resource. We don’t hire “manpower” that can be easily replaced or disposed. We hire young talents that make most of their experience in our company and we build a tight relation: we need to create synergy, as even our name states. However, sometime even the tightest relation reaches an end: even marriages may end into divorces and the same happens with work relations. It’s not during the good times of marriages, but in divorces, when the real character of your spouse will appear. Similarly it may happen in working relations: if a person is unstable or has some serious trouble the worse comes out when the relation ends and social media are the ideal places for those looking for a revenge not having anything concrete in their hands. I don’t know what the case of “xx” is, but I want to take the chance to write something, not to clear something that doesn’t need to be cleared, or as a reply that is certainly not deserved, but as a statement for any perspective employee: we are in process of hiring many, many more employees and we want them to be fully confident that they will join the best of a breed. A company like no other in the market. Xx’s post makes the following statements: • Bad project management ( resources is taken from project to project with no consideration to deadlines of the clients, blaming employees for failed projects ) I will start from the end: Our Company has a ZERO failure rate for its project. In a few words it has never happened that we failed in a project. Therefore there we had no need to blame anyone: this is something that all our past and present employees know. What we indeed do is multi-tasking and sometime we realized that not everybody can work in parallel on multiple activities at the same time. Some of our employees left because of this, but multitasking is a must for any company working on technology and innovation. I also remember one employee who left since he could not take any responsibility and required his supervisor to tell him everything he should be doing, like a soldier in the army. Sorry, but we prefer the “commando” approach: you have a mission to accomplish and the needed resources. It’s your job to accomplish the task in the best and fastest manner. • Bad HR management ( no rewards, no bonus, social insurance (200 - 500 EGP), no salary raise if they can ). We constantly review the salaries of our employees based on their performance and the capacity to take new responsibilities. We recently had several cases were we even tripled the salary of one of our employees, moving her to a managerial position. I will describe this later. • Bad Payroll ( sometimes payment delayed for 2 months mostly between July and September) This is indeed true: after the 2011 revolution our income dropped dramatically but we decided not to lay off any of our employees or cut their salary. This, plus some delay in payments, especially from governmental entities, has created a problem in our cash flow that sometime in the past forced us to delay some payment. Now it’s definitively solved. • Impolite ( Insulting people with bad words ) You should file a court case if anybody insults you. Can you imagine a workplace where people insult each other? I frankly cannot. You indeed have a fervid imagination! • Doesn't have the expansion perspective ( always promising to take new bigger location never fulfill ) This is quite difficult to understand: why should have promised a bigger location if we had enough space in our present one? Are you sure that you know well our offices where you have allegedly have been working for three years? Our expansion plans aim at opening and/or expanding our presence abroad. We have always shared them with our employees and some of them will move into those new locations very soon. • Last salary is paid only after full clearance: don't expect it if you have been fired for being a thief, expect instead a court case... Thanks for the review. We look forward to open new branches in Maadi Technology park and possibly New Cairo. Hope this will help to mitigate the commuting issue...
