Pros

Some decent recruiters, once upon a time was meant to be a good place to work, car parking isn't bad

Cons

Very micro-managed, poor salaries compared with competitors, unhappy environment, bad market mapping, expected to work well above your contracted hours even though you may not see any financial or personal gain. Don't follow their own values at all. You will only go far in the terms of promotions etc if you worship the senior team and its business strategy (which isn't very good) you will be put on a market that has had next to no attention put into it other than the fact a competitor might have done one or two deals on it. Core values clearly state all over the website 'Culture, Passion, People etc etc ... it is an outbound telesales company, no consultative approach just dial, dial, dial, dial, pull leads, leads, leads and dial, dial, dial some more. No real push on meeting candidates and clients although they claim to be a "people" orientated company. The biggest issue in the whole business is how much the staff (now robots) have lost confidence in the companies decisions. The corridors also usually smell funny due to not being cleaned.

Pros

- Some free parking spaces

Cons

- Strange working environment, what's promoted and what actually happens is very different, a bit of a paradox. - Micromanagement - Literally everything is monitored such as call stats, emails sent, time you stay until (god help you if thats before 7). Be prepared once a month in what they call a 'monthly business review' to be grilled on everything. - Complete lack of trust - you'll have to ask for anything/everything. No pats on the back if you did well, it'll be reframed to why couldn't you have done better. - Frequent negative emails sent to everyone depending on the mood of management. - No flexible working, its 'promoted' but in reality they are anti work from home, - Will do anything for short term wins - pushing clients to make decisions, threatening to take roles away from candidates to 'keep control' - if you question it you'll be made to look a fool. - Senior consultants are the first to backstab the management and shout obscenities at new starters/anyone they feel like to make themselves feel better.

Pros

IT Works make you feel like a part of the family as soon as you walk through the door. There is an extensive 13 week training programme, with ongoing support after the training period whenever you need it. The management team are always striving to make you into the best consultant you can be, and help you in any way they can to develop a successful career, no matter what background/experience you have you will be given the opportunity to become extremely successful, dependant on the right attitude and work ethic. The pay is very good with consistent billing and the achievers rewards such as trips away and staff perks add generously to the commission structure. I would definitely recommend working at IT Works for someone who is either an experienced recruiter, or someone making a career change and looking for a successful career and to make a solid bunch of work colleagues, IT Works is the place to be.

Cons

Salary wise the training period can be a step back in the first few months, however after a few consistent months of billing you will see the rewards of working in recruitment.
