Pros

Very good salary that is not taxed. Provence is a nice region. If you like lay-back work atmospheres, do not wish to learn/apply new skills and are willing to compromise your ethics for a good salary, this is the place!

Cons

This place is packed with incompetent managers, especially in support/administrative functions. Many leadership positions were granted through doubtful recruitment procedures, There are also many examples of nepotism at the highest level of management and throughout the administration. Clearly, most of the managers parachuted here do not even have the basic competences to fulfill their duty, especially in view of the huge salaries they get Vs their poor/beginner skills. Outside of this work bubble (where they feel very important), they would hardly get 1/3 of their salary. Because of all the above, there is a nasty and toxic atmosphere, as these people are using most of their time to demonstrate (unsuccessfully) that they are good at what they do, rather than simply doing their jobs. They do not hesitate to backstab their own staff or colleagues when they feel in danger due to staff who are simply doing their job, and by this, putting into light the dysfunctional or backwards methodology in place in most of the administrative functions. What is expected from staff is to be deferent to their managers and never to challenge any instructions or way of doing things ("we've always done things like that" is the bottom line). In case you are performing well in your functions, there are chances that your managers will feel threaten. Most of the people leaving this organization are the ones who have work ethics and the level to perform their job (by industry standards). As a consequences, they put in light the incompetence of their managers, who are then using all their efforts to get rid of these people. Non-existent ethical standards at the highest level despite a robust and well-drafted (and quite funny when confronted to the reality) code of ethics.
