Pros

The only real pros were the benefits and a few good co-workers.

Cons

To start, the pay is horrific. Do better. There has been a ton of layoffs every since they went public. We were once brought into a company wide, 5 minute Zoom meeting, where the CEO said if you receive an email after this meeting your role has been terminated. Pretty cut throat, especially to employees that have been with the company for 5+ years pre IPO. The culture has shifted dramatically and sales leaders don't offer much guidance to help you hit your unrealistic goal. It doesn't help that the company's focus at GTM strategy are changed every 6 months. There's no real structure within the sales organization and there's no answers or resources for sellers to leverage. There's no training process and everything is learned on the fly. I've worked at private companies who had much more buttoned up sales processes than Ibotta. It's hard to believe they went public with the structure that they have in place. There's no real room for growth and the turnover has been substantial ever since the company went public. The company culture used to really stand for its core values, and it's a shame that it's become just another tech company.

Pros

The best people I've worked with in Denver Interesting product and modern tech stack Lots of opportunity to grow Free Lunches and Unlimited PTO (that you can actually take)

Cons

Return to office is stressing out all the people who have been around ibotta for 5 or more years, people who have the most context on the product that we sell. It feels like ibotta is in a high-pressure post IPO period, trying to thin its people out by slowly taking away benefits. A few years ago it felt like there was some great hype around our products (IPN, Walmart), but now the hype feels fake around leadership. Standups have gotten really boring and I don't feel like any ICs and lower-level managers are actually excited about projects. The office used to be friendly and fun without the feeling of "you better get stuff done now!", but now it feels like few people smile and are friendly anymore. Same people, but just under lots more pressure to perform. The "common good" of teams working together is deteriorating a little bit. It feels like people don't want to collaborate and help out as much as they used to.
