Pros

Don't expect a thank you or a lot of training. Expect to cover people's areas when they are gone a lot. Nepotism was an issue a few years ago but now they act like nepotism isn't a big deal and they make bosses work above or below their family members. Start out at 15 an hour with no bonus or anything. It will take you a year and a half to get up to just under 19 an hour, and 4 years before you're at top pay at like 21. They pay you pennies and charge 119 for parking each year. Parking is terrible and your mental health will suffer. Good insurance and somewhat good benefits. That will keep you feeling stuck here. Expect no raises after 4 years expect for the occasional 30 cents once a year maybe. Do yourself a favor and go into a trade or a job that is paying more than 20 an hour.

Cons

All they care about is diversity and inclusion and making money. Upper management is the reason this place is falling apart. All they care about is hiring diversity hires.

Pros

Job is very secure, extremely hard to get fired, virtually no chance of a layoff. Decent benefits.

Cons

You, as the employee, are the last person this university will care about. Complaints will be ignored, you will not get raises, but your directors and management will. There is no chance of internal growth, every position must be posted publicly and repeatedly I have seen directors give their friends positions, instead of people more qualified. If you do not have a management position of any kind, you will be treated like dirt. Little to no respect for communication, they will not discuss departmental changes with the staff, and will implement them with no warning or prep time.
