Honestly, I cannot think of a single thing that stands out anymore.
Cons
- We are now on our 5th CEO in a decade. I have never seen such a lack of cohesive leadership anywhere else. There is zero stability. The business strategy constantly pivots, priorities are revised weekly (usually for the worse), and the lack of long-term vision is staggering. - We are in the middle of the AI era. While our direct competitors are seeing massive growth and aggressively rewarding their employees for it, we just keep lagging further behind. Leadership justifies every painful cost-cutting measure by blaming "difficult market scenarios", completely ignoring the reality of the tech sector right now. While other companies are defining the future, we are wasting time blindly chasing them and fighting over the crumbs. - Compensation continues to plummet below market rates. When people do manage to secure a promotion, the pay raise is so insulting you wonder why you even bothered. You are handed a massive pile of new responsibilities, but the financial compensation simply does not exist. - We now spend more time managing Jira and logging timesheets than actually doing engineering work. The culture has violently shifted toward micromanagement. Hours of our week are wasted in highly political alignment meetings just to organize work that never seems to progress. It's process for the sake of process. - Good people are leaving in droves, and management is doing absolutely nothing to improve retention. The yearly bonus is an empty promise. Last year's payment was delayed due to poor upper management. Worse, your personal performance has zero impact on your bonus; high performers get the exact same percentage as someone doing the bare minimum. There is absolutely no incentive to excel, and I honestly don't see why any experienced engineer would want to join this sinking ship right now.
