Pros

Hard to name any positives

Cons

Some weeks ago, I attended an interview believing that I was going for the role of “brand manager”. Instead, I was driven out to a dump of a place with flats that looked and smelt like a drug den. On their website, it claims that the CEO is “happy to invest vast amounts of time and energy into growing his business with the right types of people”. What he has delicately left out is that he will employ any old mug who will go and cold call on those who have low income, and force them to buy something they do not want. After informing them that they had clearly misled me, I was told that I had to make my own way home and pay for it out of my own pocket. In summary, if you want to work for a deceitful and unprofessional company then Imperium is the one for you.

Pros

It's a small company, so you wear a lot of hats. You quickly gain a lot of professional skills that are transferable to other careers. Also, when I worked there, they offered decent benefits, and matched simple IRA contributions to a certain percentage.

Cons

Nobody ever gets paid what they're worth. Boss is super cheap. For example, they laid off an unpaid intern, who was only reimbursed for commuting expenses. I, for one, worked 50+ hour work weeks and never got a salary raise. I made the same amount no matter how much I worked. The future of the company is built on the backs of college interns.
