Pros

-The people here are the most impressive colleagues I have ever worked with. Many have decades of experience, intelligent and work hard towards challenges. - Working with a newly developed additive manufacturing technology that has the potential to disrupt several industries -Super flexible with vacation (unlimited) and does not want to burn out their employees - Ability to focus on several different areas of the company (wear many hats) which is great for younger professionals to get a variety of experience. You rarely are doing the same thing day to day. - Freedom to focus on what is most important for the company and be able to run with that plan. There is not a bureaucratic process to make things happen, it just takes a few informal conversations. This is a start-up. It is challenging, team-based and sometimes chaotic environment. I personally am excited to come into work every day. However, some people would hate this. There is not someone saying here is what you will do every day nor is there a direct process to follow for your role. I see it as a build your own adventure type of position. Again, it is why I love it here and others would hate it. I know people from 1,000+ employee organizations struggle with this type of work culture.

Cons

- The company organization is not keeping up with the growth of the company. There needs to be some type of process to help keep things organized and understand the priorities of different parts of the organization. - There are employees that overpromise the capabilities of the technology which creates a massive amount of work for the people working on a project - There is not always a clear understanding of priorities and focus for the company. Things move quickly and it is sometimes hard to understand where we are aiming for. - Marketing has not been a major focus for the company. Things like case studies, user feedback, and targeted niche markets are slowly in progress.
