Pros
The individuals are the best. Some of the houses are clean and organized.
Cons
Wages are 12 dollars an hour. DSP workers are over worked and overwhelmed. DSP has to give medication, drive the van, cook, clean, complete ISP goals, do laundry etc. In community hires temp staff and the temp staff get pay way more than the In- community staff. The temp staff doesn't drive the van, doesn't give medication, doesn't do much of the maintenance of the houses. They will sit on their phones all shift. If the In-community staff doesn't say anything to the temp-staff, they will not do anything the entire staff.
Management-house managers have their favorite staff they allocate over time to. Managers are unfair to staff.
In-community staff make 12 dollars an hour, medical benefits are expensive. How can a person live off of 12 dollars an hour in this day and time. In-community temp staff makes about 15-18 an hour to work at In-community houses, they are not med certified to administered medications, and do not drive. They sit on their butts and don't do anything. They are just a body to cover the shift while the in-community staff do all the work. This is not fair. I am writing this for all of In-community loyal, dedicated hard working staff.
