Pros

facilities are beyond thought, I think one of the best in the industry across public/pvt. full medical, many are free services, time to time payments for small things even you won't count but really add up to the comfort.Holiday homes, free housing, allowances for furniture, computer maintenance, HBA etc. excellent pay package.Excellent brand name in the market, full support from all government administration, no need to give much surety/ guarantees in the market IOC name is enough.

Cons

Ratio of workload is 80/20 therefore if u are meritorious lot of load without adequate manpower will be there.HR is like king, system of transfer/promotions are highly skewed and based on jugad only.Structure at any location is without any thought.Marketing is king then Refinery & R&D and worst is pipelines.Time pass and pass the buck is the culture.Company is a goldmine but inefficiency and reluctant to change are there. Promotee (staff to officer people) & union are strong cannot think to mess with them for their easygoing approach or even for indiscipline. Vigilance & Audit are so much interfering that people follows only DOP and procedures, L1 contract awards & unnecessary voluminous paper work leave the quality burden over the employee.
