- Working with dogs everyday is amazing and super fulfilling. - Learning about dog behavior is a new, interesting skill to aquire - Staff and owner are generally nice people to work with - Even though holidays and weekends are mandatory, the scheduling is flexible and I was able to take trips when I needed - There has been a lot of change over the past year with attendance growth and expansion, so a lot of things will even out and change for the better with time

- There is no official hiring / interview/ training process for new employees, which is weird for new employees, stressful for the current staff, and dangerous for everyone. Due to lack of training and standard processes, I had witnessed dogs being mishandled without disciplinary action among the staff. - Owner is non-confrontational to a fault, and staff can be lazy due to lack of training and expectations. Owner can also be less than truthful by withholding honest opinions, constructive criticism, and will even take you off the schedule without communicating why. - Lack of dog safety training and tools, which makes it easy for staff members and dogs to become injured. Use of chemicals is haphazard and not researched thoroughly, sometimes causing allergic reactions among dogs and staff alike. - Has been understaffed for most of 2017, with the people to dog ratio being dangerously low. For example, having 1 person watching close to 40 dogs by themselves is irresponsible. * I really enjoyed my time here and do not regret working here. I learned a lot, but after a year of working at IndyHound I felt as though staff opinion mattered less, the work environment became more stressful with management doing little to nothing to make the situation better, and I began to lose hope that things would get better. Things do change slowly but sometimes it's too little, too late.*
