Pros

Because INSIDR is an ambitious start-up, working there was an amazingly enriching professional and human experience. Working in such an environment is demanding but extremely rewarding. You get to see the results of what you start and have a say on many of the strategic and determining decisions. Indeed, because it is a start-up that cares about their employees and interns, Nina & Benjamin, the founders, always have their minds open to new ideas and initiatives. Having started as an intern, I quickly could make my way up to becoming an operations manager thanks to the rapid growth of the company, which is an interesting point if you want to progress and acquire hands-on experience quite rapidly. Besides, INSIDR being a very international start-up at its core, you get to work with a very interesting and friendly bunch of people from all over the world, from different backgrounds, with different languages and cultures. The multicultural aspect, especially if you're new to Paris, is a great opportunity and an exciting way to meet people!

Cons

As any ambitious start-up, INSIDR is a highly demanding work environment, so don't be afraid to do extra hours if necessary! You probably won't get a 9 to 5 everyday. It can be challenging, but it is also a good experience. That being said, Nina & Ben are very conscious that everyone has their own things and are very flexible when it comes to accommodating if possible.

Pros

INSIDR was my first experience as a business developer, and what I learned there was enormous. As INSIDR is a startup, I needed to have a lot of responsibility immediately upon my arrival in the team. The first month, I assisted the CEO's fundraising effort by identifying the relevant structures and people who could invest in the company. After that, I was in charge of the local partnerships. I prospected, contacted, met, and negotiated with them. Then, my time was dedicated to the B2B sales. I had the chance to keep the same level of responsibility than for my previous local partnership tasks, and even with very big brands. I had the chance to meet top CEOs and CMOs of companies like ba&sh, Celio, Naf Naf, and Caroll. In addition of this work for INSIDR, it also enabled me to enrich my professional network. On the management side, I can say that Benjamin Forlani, the CEO, let me a big sphere of autonomy. As a former BCG project manager, he reproduces at INSIDR the working philosophy he knew in his former position. For example, he is always asking to have multiple feedbacks from his employees, and he ensures at least once a month that our time at INSIDR is beneficial to us. I also really appreciated the fact that he let the entire team know about the strategy of the company. I was impressed by his listening skills he adopted with all his employees. I learnt a lot thanks to him. Moreover, I loved the working atmosphere at INSIDR. The team members have all very diverse backgrounds. During my time there, more than 15 languages in total were spoken at the office...! It was great to have the choice between speaking either in French or in English at INSIDR. I also took advantage of my internship to develop my level in Spanish, and I even learned some Mandarin notions. It's not something usual for a company based in France!

Cons

Some people could be scared of being in charge of very crucial tasks for the start-up. It sometimes happened that people work a bit after the working hours to achieve their works. In any case, I knew that the two co-founders were always present to ensure their employees are well accompanied to reach their objectives.

Pros

The founders were helpful to solve problems and the team felt close knit which made for a challenging but fun work experience

Cons

There was no clear long term goal defined by the company and the team weren't agile to deal with change in the marketplace
