Pros
I started my career with Insight Global out of college and will be having my 5 year work anniversary on June 6th! I met them at a Career Fair when I was a senior and honestly was a bit skeptical at the time because I had never heard of anyone working in the IT staffing industry. I truly didn't know much about it! However, the more I learned about the company, it had everything that was important to me in a future career: a great training program, mentors, room to grow, the opportunity to earn stock in a growing company, uncapped commission and at the end of the day I would be in the industry of IT which I knew was a secure place to be long term. So I decided to go forward with an interview, and thank goodness I did! There was something special about the energy here, the vision and passion my manager had, and by the time I saw the office and met my potential co-workers I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Just as in any career, there are absolutely days that are challenging or can be frustrating when things don't work out the way you expected them too. However, the difference I've seen from working here opposed to my friends who have had rotated between 1 or 2 out of college is the environment. And well, the opportunity that goes with it! But being able to come into a place that is positive, upbeat and now working with some of my closest friends makes any challenging situation you run into that much easier to shake off and move on from. And then I can't imagine another career that allows the opportunity to take as many company trips as we do, earn stock to share in the success of our growth, make good money and work with some of your best friends. It does take hard work and it’s a great job for someone who is goal-oriented, gets their energy from working with people and there is no better feeling that the whole premise of what we do is get other people jobs for a living!
Cons
Ah I feel like I should be writing a con but I can't think of anything at the moment! I will say that I've found Work/Life balance is what you make it. We have the the mindset here to sprint through your day and get out by 5 to enjoy your life ( I usually get in around 7:30 to check email, get coffee & start my day). However, if you go home on the couch and watch TV all night you'll feel like you have a terrible work/life balance. Life's about making time for family, friends, staying active (there's a YMCA in the skyway!) and it's up to you to balance your life after work!
