Pros

There are many kind, talented and interesting people in the organisation. They are the gems. It’s an exciting time to be in the organisation as they are going through a lot of change. They are very conscious of work-life balance and there is good flexibility about working from home and around your family. The product is helpful for self-awareness, although I felt that it was often used to label people or hide bad or aggressive behaviour i.e. “I’m sorry, I’m just having a fiery red moment.”

Cons

As others have said, the company suffers from an incredibly toxic culture. In my first weeks, I was warned about not getting on the wrong side of certain individuals as they had the capacity to ruin your career. I was shocked to witness this actually happen to a number of people, who left feeling broken by Insights. There is a culture of fear, caused by leaders who are unqualified for the roles they are in. Insecurity seems to be at the root of this problem, resulting in passive-aggressive behaviour. If you have been brought into Insights based on your experience and skills, you may feel as though they are constantly challenged and belittled. It can be quite frustrating and exhausting. I didn’t feel safe working at Insights. I would only recommend it if you are exceptionally good at office politics and are willing to massage many egos to do well. It is possible, but you will need to turn a blind eye to a lot of bad behaviour and stay focussed on your own career.

Thank you for your feedback and I’m sorry that your time at Insights wasn’t everything you would have expected. At Insights we are all working to be the best people we can be and this is the same for everyone across the business regardless of their role or position. We know that we can always try harder. At Insights we try to create an open and honest environment that doesn’t require you to be an expert in office politics. We strive to invest in our own people and in the last year one third of all new appointments across the business have been internal promotions and development opportunities. I wish you all the best for your future.

Pros

I've very much enjoyed the time spent at Insights so far. The company is headquartered in Scotland, but have an office in Austin. Everyone I've met that works here has been incredibly kind and welcoming. While this may differ from team-to-team, I've had a lot of great support from my managers and the IT team. I would say the pay and benefits are competitive when compared to other positions on the market for my role.

Cons

With a lot of the company being remote, sometimes communication can get a bit lost between teams.
