Pros

Free lunch & snacks when the office was open

Cons

From a temp who worked at the company for one month: Week 1: Walking into the office felt like a scene out of Get Out—everyone had forced smiles, but the atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable, like people were pretending everything was fine while silently struggling. That uneasy feeling was validated when I overheard HR loudly discussing a colleague’s salary with someone in finance, right in the open—an obvious and deeply unprofessional breach of confidentiality. Week 2: I was expected to begin selling immediately with no proper training and was issued broken equipment. To make matters worse, I was told to either use my own headphones or buy new ones myself. Week 3: I was contacted by the CFO about an “exciting opportunity” to volunteer on a weekend with a few other new employees. I had prior plans but expressed interest in participating in the future. Shortly after, I received a follow-up email stating that weekend shifts were required to support students. I responded asking how the schedule would be adjusted (e.g., getting weekdays off instead), but never received a reply. A few days later, the schedule was completely overhauled. What had been pitched as a Monday–Friday, 9–5 role suddenly became a mandatory six-day workweek with weekend shifts—without any upfront communication or consent. Ironically, the manager who implemented this change was demoted soon after. Week 4: The company was acquired, and without warning, the office was shut down within 3 days. During this same week, I experienced a death in my family and contacted HR—no one ever responded. As part of the acquisition, the new ownership scheduled one-on-one calls with employees. I spoke with a shareholder who asked for my honest feedback on the business, leadership (including the CFO), and areas for improvement. I shared a balanced perspective based on my brief experience, highlighting issues with training, communication, scheduling, and transparency. The shareholder acknowledged my concerns and even agreed that my onboarding experience had been unnecessarily difficult. In summary, this company does not practice what it preaches. Despite promoting wellness, there’s little concern for employee mental health. It relies on outdated sales tactics and a legacy reputation that no longer reflects its current state. Leadership is ineffective and creates a culture where speaking up can make you a target. The company appears to be in decline, and instead of supporting staff, they look for reasons to let people go. It's worth noting that the CFO exerts an unhealthy level of control and fosters a toxic environment, particularly for POC employees. Proceed with caution.

Pros

The leadership is very empathic, and the women who ran with place did so with love and power. Everyone wanted to succeed for them because of how wonderful their leadership was.

Cons

Bought by evil venture capitalist firm who gutted the place and turned it from a school to an e-commerce course. Clearly they are in someway tied up with big pharma because they really have killed the message and movement behind.
