Pros

The position was interesting, respected, and influential in Whitehall departments.

Cons

The organisation sometimes felt like working for the civil service in the 'bad old days' - lifer employees, and bureaucratic processes. I believe this was being improved.

Pros

People are very nice, helpful, collegial. Working hours and conditions are classic Public Sector

Cons

* Business and development organisition stuck in early 2000s * Senior management has no idea how a modern digital transformation is organised and delivered, consequently they rely on an old-school programme management consultancy. * Said consultancy can only think like developers in a feature factory and very little in a GDS discovery neatly fits into Epics. * They are trying to do a digital transformation without addressing the internal operating model or organisation * everything is heavily siloed and within silos, there are mini-silos
