Pros
You can gain experience doing fairly simple chemistry. The company makes analogues for other pharmaceutical companies on a contract basis, hence Intellisyn is called a CRO or contract reaearch organization.
Cons
Fairly straightforward chemistry is used in this company. If you have a PhD or even a Masters in Orgo, you are overqualified. The company sells itself as a place where drug discovery happens, but in reality chemists here are just making compounds for other companies and we never get to know the results since that information is confidential. The brutal reality of CROs like Intellisyn is that they enable chemists to be employed to do the chemistry work of larger pharmaceutical companies, but with lower pay and benefits that they would otherwise make if they worked for the larger pharmaceutical companies directly.
