Pros

Pays well compared to similar jobs You’ll get a security clearance. Level depends on where you’re located.

Cons

Incompetence at higher levels. It’s is very evident that mid to top level managers are in somewhat of an old boys club. Very incompetent people have kept their jobs for way too long. The training requires you to live in the middle of nowhere making minimum wage for 2 months. Back in the day, the job training took place closer to DC and you were paid the full wage. Now it takes place at a training ground they built in the middle of the woods and you get paid minimum wage until you complete it. We’re talking months of boredom for low pay. Penalties get added and rewards are non existent. Since I have first started working here, they have modified several violations to become terminations on the first offense instead of write ups. Meanwhile rewards are practically non existent. Moving up is difficult if not impossible in the case of the Outer Regions. Combine that with the fact that you can’t even have a cup of coffee and you get workplaces where morale is constantly low. The only people happy with their jobs are the numerous retirees who are content spending their days staring at a wall. I have worked at this company for years, and it’s very evident it’s falling apart. If you are just trying to get a security clearance, get it here, find a better job and jump ship as soon as possible. Also, be sure to take all positive reviews with a grain of salt. They’re currently pushing employees to give 4 star ratings or above on Glassdoor for a chance to win “a prize in a raffle”. They have sent numerous emails and texts to all employees, making sure we know we should say this place is great for a long shot chance at “a prize”. That should tell you everything you need to know about the company. People hate working here, and instead of making it a better place to work, they attempt to bribe people with pathetic rewards to say nice things.

Pros

They advertise diversity. They'll hire anyone. Not necessarily a positive.

Cons

Inter-Con is a corporate shell game, where every spoke in the wagon wheel is responsible for a different facet of the business (hiring, training, payroll, etc.) and no one seems to know what they are doing. Every single employee I have worked with has had a pay discrepancy. Several co-workers were given insufficient quantities or ill-fitting elements of their uniform, and told to buy their own, if they didn't have enough. Several employees were charged for uniforms that were suppose to be free. Inter-Con has spent months refusing to meet with our union, (because they have been running roughshod over the tentative contractual agreement in place) Inter-Con constantly hires new people, to cover shifts of full-time employees, so say goodbye to any overtime. Employees are being penalized by an arbitrary star system, which is suppose to punish unreliable employees, not tarnish the record of employees using a personal day, for personal reasons. Employees have been told that their excuse for missing work was not good enough. Every facet of what we do is organized by apps, and on cell phones. Inter-Con seems to have no sense whatsoever about the tasks and duties of an employee in the automotive industry.
