Toxic Burn Out Central - Manager InterIm Community Development Association Employee Review

Pros

The flex time - which is entirely employee-tracked - was the biggest pro of the job. While aspects of being a manager were fulfilling, by the end, I was totally burnt out.

Cons

The compensation is poor, even for a nonprofit of this size, and the employee benefits keep shrinking as time goes on. The organization is not aligned with its values, the direction of the organization is vague at best (even when you ask upper management), and there is a constant revolving door when it comes to staff. Even though many new hires believe in the organization's values and are willing to take a pay cut, they end up leaving when they realize what's on paper doesn't align with reality; four managers have quit in the last year alone. Upper management displays favoritism, offers close to zero support, and completely lacks transparency around decision-making. Very toxic place to work.
