Pros
No arbitrary data structures and algorithms interview which provides a golden opportunity for newer developers with the drive to get a good start in the industry. Abundant opportunity to learn by experimentation and mentorship. Great co-workers who are a diverse group of very friendly people. Self driven environment with minimal micro management and bureaucracy. You get to build key app features for important customers that will be used daily. High impact via working directly with clients to build out software to meet their business needs.
Cons
The struggle is real. There is a lot of chaos and learning through trial and error. Schedules are often interrupted by the nature of consulting multiple projects and not able to be adjusted. A lot of initiative is required to do well and it often feels like jumping off a cliff because the territory is extremely niche and unfamiliar. This is hard; however, it is also an opportunity to be awesome and there is access to great expert guidance.
