Pros

Despite being a large international company, the culture feels very much like a start-up: the CFO knows everyone's name, the work is high value, and the analysts get to wear different hats. Intuitive has great leadership that instills the mission in everyone which makes the late nights a bit easier. The people leaders are great - very much player coaches (vs. other companies where the managers are strictly delegators). The caliber of people is amazing - we have so many high performers with very strong soft and technical skills. It's also a collaborative environment with heavy emphasis on teamwork

Cons

The work is demanding. We are a high output, fast-growing company that operates fairly lean - sometimes work life balance can be stressed. But because of the enjoyment of the work and the mission, it is manageable

Pros

Able to provide care and value to patients all the way through - and on 40 hours a week, for real, with a culture that healthily jobs out a lot of stress. Everyone I work with is competent and glad to be here.

Cons

The above is not true for every corner of the company, and some places have gotten harder to exist in. Hours can run long in some places.

Pros

The da Vinci is a powerful robotics platform and still unmatched by just about everything else in the market. With the product that great comes the experience and access to work with healthcare professionals and hospital systems at a level that is extremely valuable for a long career Medical Device. Also, the value you provide in the technical experience, the training pathway and the Surgeon learning curve to autonomy and the feeling of growing production is great when all the pieces fall into place.

Cons

If you're in an area that has good runway and they just need hands on deck with a supportive manager it's pretty straightforward career progression. However, there's a lot of territories that have been sold into a corner of sorts and because of the specific targets that absolutely need to be sold the management has gotten extremely picky and will specifically target reps from orgs such as JnJ, Applied and Medtronic to come in and flip the remaining surgeons that they've already been selling to.
