Pros
* This was a hybrid position. 2 days a week home, 3 onsite. * I will say there were plenty of learning opportunities as you would expect from this company. Not in robotics but that is not would you would expect from my IT position. I did know my position but as I said I was thrown into fields I did not know and well, now I do. * I do like automation and even though I had to do it in my own time I did get to work with a lot of new APIs and such so that is what kept me going from that respect. * Aside from a few very rude outliers the staff was mostly very pleasant and included me on lunch outings and such, which there were a decent amount of.
Cons
* Asked to do nothing but user support all day long and nothing but. Of course that was to be 60 - 80% of my job but not 100%. I was promised AND asked to do more. I am an engineer and and capable than more of what they are asking. I had to do it on my own time and ended up exhausted. Practically no work life balance at all. * I was hired to work on a specific technology and from day one, they had me doing said user support on a different technology, and one that I said in my interview I had no experience on. There was no initial training at all, though there was opportunities to ask questions as I went. Of course that is not easy to do when you are working in real time with users. * Meetings cancelled - boss 2 out of 3 weeks. No notification given. i was sitting in a meeting room, even after having written him and asking if we were still meeting. No answer till an hour later. This was as mentioned a regular occurrence. * In addition I was never invited to or even informed of group meetings. I would walk back to my desk sometimes and no one was there. And then sometimes someone would walk up to my desk and randomly tell me, hey, new plan on something. I would ask is there any context? Only answer was just moving in a different direction. * What's worse is at times there would be a huddle of 3 or four people behind or in front of me, sometimes talking about job matters that directly relate to me or sometimes just having a fun chat. Of course I was completely ignored. I would try to interject sometimes at first but was politely acknowledged and then quietly moved away from the conversation. * to make matters worse, I had a serious medical emergency in my family. All I heard from management was sorry to hear that. Not a care was given. In addition to work load, I was up practically all night talking with and helping family overseas, which everyone knew. * After working throughout the night and having personal issues, I would have meetings the next day to review and again those were missed, not even a single DM or email sent till much later.
