Pros

There are some great people working at this company who can become close friends. Iris has a family like feel to it, this might vary from department to department but from what I have seen it's wonderful. They do work hard to make a big dent in the industry and it shows in the quality of work and how clients are treated. It's a very fast pace place (which makes the days go by quicker) and actually rewarding. You will get rewarded with praise and announcements for an accomplishment.

Cons

The goal reviews are about the dumbest thing imaginable. Basically, you are rated on a scale of 1-4 and if you met your goals. Normally you don't receive higher than a 2 and management expects that. In fact they will look into anyone who stated above that. So, it's like they are asking you to feel like you failed. If you move positions or something isn't available to you anymore, you don't get to count that goal... and when review time comes, that counts against you. They don't judge you on performance, you could do a semi-decent job, but if you get your goals taken care of you are golden. Nothing is ever set in stone, being in client services you can get tossed around and promised things but never have the end result you were hoping for. Of course there are certain people that can irritate you as an employee, but that is EVERYWHERE. It's e-discovery, it's going to be stressful at times.

Pros

Iris has some of the pros of any other eDiscovery vendor. Relative to education and experience needed in any other field, the pay is generally competitive. There are opportunities to be mentored and learn skills ranging from basic problem solving and queue management to software-specific proficiency and the management of a team. They're a fast growing company. There's opportunity for advancement within the company for those who show that they have the skills needed to do so and the initiative to further their knowledge. Hard work is acknowledged and respected by senior management and the executive team.

Cons

Iris also has some of the same cons as any other eDiscovery vendor. Sometimes the hours can be extensive. A client's production request may require you to work weekends or holidays. Systems have been put into place to distribute the burden, but everyone will end up working weekends, evenings, or holidays at some point. This will be a constant in this industry no matter where you go. I also agree with what some of the other individuals have said here. Iris is success driven. If you don't do well in a fast-paced environment where new challenges present themselves every day, you won't enjoy working here. While your resume and experience certainly qualify you for a job, your continued success is expected in order to hold onto it.
