Pros

There are opportunities to work with really interesting clients, and a few internal colleagues are genuine and supportive. Health insurance benefits are generous and some employees (only in certain offices) have access to really nice office space where even relatively junior employees are able to have their own space.

Cons

One of the core issues at Isaacson, Miller is that its culture and mission are a sham. There is a lot of talk about mission, values, and employee satisfaction, but there is very little action to actually improve any of those areas. This inaction likely stems from the fact that all organizational decisions are made by a few powerful (white) people. This group really only cares about revenue and pleasing the most powerful / lucrative partners, which often goes against the organizations mission and values. It's quite backwards as it makes the firm look bad publicly, while also causing a constant cycle of hemorrhaging employees who are tired of the mistreatment, low pay, inequity, favoritism, etc. Other reviews highlight the DEI and equity issues at IM. This is an organization where you will feel a need to highlight the "ritzier" parts of your background or lifestyle (having visited Nantucket, having a family connection to an elite school or organization, higher end events, etc.). It's an organization that values pretentious (white) people. If you speak up or speak out, you are seen as someone who "goes against" the firm. It wasn't a surprise that many of the folks let go "due to COVID" in 2020 were often those who shared feedback around how the organization could improve.
