Pros

Great pre-med school experience. Excellent computer skills are learned with medical databases. Medical terminology is used and learned every shift--helps put that pre-med education to work. Real-world real-time emergency room action to prepare a pre-med student for their residency.

Cons

Pay could be much better than it is; you are also on contract with Iscribe MD versus working outright for the hospital and potentially making 1/4 to 1/2 more an hour. Company also cuts you off at 40 hours a week. No overtime ever allowed. Mostly students compose IScribe MD workforce, therefore shift "flakiness" happens and expect last minute calls frequently for emergent shift covers. Doctors appreciate your charting help--almost all of them.
