Pros

- Opportunity to get trained in various techniques and progress in the direction you want by learning from other members of staff. - Vitality benefits, free coffee on site. Free breakfast every second week. - Pay is good.

Cons

- The knowledge within the company lives within people, but some standard operating procedures (SOPs) are unclear. There are multiple pieces of equipment that are not used at full capacity because people who knew how to use them left. - Cult of Microsoft Excel, manual copying and manual comparisons of sequences. The way in which the data is stored makes it extremely difficult not to make a mistake, yet company seems to be unwilling to invest in proper ELN. - Hard to manage the workload.

Fast-paced, high-energy environment – Ideal for people who enjoy staying busy and thrive under pressure. Friendly, sociable team – Colleagues are approachable and collaborative, making it a supportive place to work. Exposure to cutting-edge science – Especially exciting if you're passionate about biotech and innovation

Cons

High workload – The pace can be intense, and it’s not uncommon to feel stretched, especially during busy periods. Slight division between teams – There can be a bit of an “us and them” dynamic between those working on internal vs. external projects, which sometimes affects team cohesion.

Pros

You will get training in many techniques and will find the way how to apply your skills to benefit the workplace. It is not as rigid as in big pharma where everyone has a defined function.

Cons

Very top heavy company, the progression opportunities are somewhat obscure, especially for non - science people.
